CSW Stakeholder Update, 4 April 2022 – Changes to Gathering Limits Vaccine Passes for Secondary School Sport
Dear students, staff, family members, partners and supporters of College Sport Wellington,
Ahead of the Government’s removal of the Vaccine Pass requirement from the COVID Protection Framework tonight and the recent changes made to gathering limits, please be advised of the following for College Sport Wellington sanctioned events and competitions:
- Vaccine Passes are no longer required at CSW sanctioned events and competitions, except where a specific venue still requires them (as deemed by their own Health and Safety review).
- Spectators are welcome at all outdoor competitions and events (in line with the removal of gathering restrictions at CPF Red).
- Spectators are welcome at indoor competitions and events, except where a specific venue advises otherwise (as deemed by their own Health and Safety review). This will be on a case by case basis where the venue can feasibly host more than 200 people (as per the CPF Red setting) and need to consider gathering restrictions.
In any instances where the above guidelines need to be altered due to specific venue requirements, we will ensure this is communicated well in advance to our member schools. Looking further ahead, we are hopeful of a speedy return to the Orange setting of the COVID Protection Framework, certainly in time for the start of the winter season in Term Two. We thank you all for your support and patience over the past several years and wish you well for the rest of 2022.
