College Sport Wellington Stakeholder Update – Sport at Alert Level 1
Dear students, staff, family members, partners and supporters of College Sport Wellington,
On behalf of the Board and Staff of College Sport Wellington, I want to thank you all for your support of school sport over the winter, particularly under the trying circumstances of the past few weeks. We appreciate this hasn’t been easy, but your support has enabled schools to continue to host sport fixtures.
Based on the Government announcement that Wellington will move to Alert Level 1 at midnight tonight, we are pleased to advise that spectator restrictions will be lifted from secondary school fixtures from Tuesday morning. This includes (but not limited to) the Fuji Xerox Girls Football Finals (Wednesday), Huia Cup Swimming (Wednesday) and Tranzit Coachlines Premier Rugby Final (Sunday).
Unfortunately we are unable to permit spectators at tonight’s finals for the Fuji Xerox Boys Football and RSSL Netball. The venue authorities have asked that we adhere to the Alert Level 2 requirements until they expire at midnight, and we will support those requests. However there will be live streaming options available for supporters, which will be shared on the College Sport Wellington Facebook page this afternoon.
Our thanks in advance for your support of these decisions and best wishes to the students competing this week.
